Paide on 8300 elanikuga väike armas linnake Eestimaa südames. Linna kuulsusrikas ajalugu sai alguse 1291. aastal, mil talle anti ühena esimestest Eestimaa linnadest linnaõigused. Paide on läbi kireva ajaloo kandnud ka nimesid nagu Wittenstein, Weissenstein ja Paede. Täna on Paide Järva maakonna ainus linn kui kohalik omavalitsusüksus ning administratiivne keskus. Elanike käsutuses on kolm kooli, kaks lasteaeda, kultuurikeskus ja 3D kino, spordihall ja ujula, noortekeskus ja rulapark, muusikakool ja huvikool. Paide linnas asub maakonna ainus haigla ja tegutsevad majanduse edendamise seisukohalt võtmetähendusega ettevõtted.
Linna üks peamisi vaatamisväärsusi ja turismiatraktsioone on Ajakeskus Wittenstein koos kauni Vallimäega. Paide ordulinnuse varemetes asuvas ajakeskuses on võimalus tõelise ajamasinaga rännata ja saada osa erinevatest ajaloosündmustest. Tähelepanuta ei saa jätta ka Paide Püha Risti kirikut ja raekoda, mis asuvad linna südames Keskväljakul. Oluline koht Paide ajaloos on vanalinnal ja sajakonnal paeskulptuuril. Siin on sündinud helilooja Arvo Pärt ning näitlejad Ita Ever ja Eve Kivi. Paides peetakse ka Arvamusfestivali, mis iga aasta augustis toob Eestimaa südamesse tuhandeid külalisi arutlema ühiskondlikel teemadel ning nautima kultuuriprogrammi. Paide is a small lovely town of 8300 residents in the heart of Estonia. The glorious history of the town got its beginning in 1291 when it received town bylaws among some of the first towns in Estonia. Through its colourful history Paide has been known by the names of Wittenstein, Weissenstein and Paede. Today Paide is the only town in the Järva County as the local self-government and its administrative center. There are three schools, two kindergartens, a cultural center, a 3D cinema, a sports hall, a youth center, a roller skating park, a music school and an interest school at the disposal of the residents. Paide has the only hospital in the county and companies from the point of key importance of the promotion of economy operate there. One of the most important sights and tourist attractions in the city is the Wittenstein Time Center along with the beautiful Vallimägi Hill. In the Time Center in the ruins of the Paide Order Castle it is possible to travel on a genuine time machine and participate in different historical events. Notice is due also to Paide’s Holy Cross Church and the Town Hall that are situated in the heart of the town, in the Central Square. The Old City of Paide and about a hundred limestone sculptures have an important place in the history of the town. The composer Arvo Pärt and the actresses Ita Ever and Eve Kivi have been born in Paide. In August an Opinion Festival brings thousands of people to Paide to discuss public issues and enjoy its cultural program. Dauermarke – Paide
Paide ist eine kleine gemütliche Stadt in Mittelestland mit 8300 Einwohnern. Ihre berühmte Geschichte beginnt 1291, als sie als eine der ersten Städte in Estland die Stadtrechte erhielt. Im Laufe der Zeit trug Paide auch solche Namen, wie Wittenstein, Weissenstein und Paede. Heute ist Paide die einzige Stadt im Bezirk Järvamaa und sein Administrativzentrum. Hier gibt es drei Schulen, einen Kindergarten, ein Kulturzentrum und 3D Kino, eine Sporthalle und Schwimmbad, Jugendzentrum und Musikschule, sowie das einzige Krankenhaus in Bezirk.
Zu den wesentlichsten Sehenswürdigkeiten und Attraktionen für Touristen gehört das Zeitzentrum Wittenstein mit dem schönen Wallberg. Im Zeitzentrum, das sich in den Ruinen der Ordensburg befindet, kann man mit einer richtigen Zeitmaschine reisen und verschiedenen Ereignissen in der Geschichte teilnehmen. Sehenswürdig sind auch die Heiligen Kreuz Kirche und das Rathaus im Zentrum in Stadt, sowie die Altstadt und Kalksteinskulpture. In Paide wurde der Komponist Arvo Pärt und die Schauspieler Ita Ever und Eve Kivi geboren. In Paide findet auch im August das Meinungsfestival statt, am dem tausende Gäste teilnehmen um über gesellschaftliche Themen zu diskutieren und ein Kulturprogramm zu geniessen.
