2002. aasta 1. jaanuaril tuli kaheteistkümnes Euroopa Liidu riigis käibele ühisraha euro. 1.jaanuaril 2011 võeti euro kasutusele Eestis ning selle tähistamiseks emiteeritud postmark oli esimene ainult euro vääringus postmark nominaaliga 1€. Käesolev postmark on sama kujundusega, kuid teise värvitooniga. Alates 1. septembrist 2014 on kaaluga kuni 50g standarkirja I tsooni tariif 1.20 eurot.

On January 1, 2002 the common euro currency was launched in twelve countries of the European Union. On January 1, 2011 the euro was taken into use also in Estonia and the postage stamp issued to mark the event was the first one in the euro denomination of €1. This postage stamp has the same design but is in a different colour. Starting from September 1, 2014 the rate of the regular letter up 50 grams in the 1st zone is €1.20.

Am 1. Januar 2011 wurde in Estland als siebzehntes Land die gemeinsame Währung - der Euro eingeführt. Zu diesem Anlass erschien am selben Tag eine Briefmarke mit einem Nennwert von 1 Euro. Die heutige Marke ist ebenso gestaltet, nur mit anderem Farbton. Ab 1. September 2014 ist der Tarif für Standardbriefe bis 50g in Staaten der I Zone 1.20 €.
