Estonian National Museums Postal Museum in Tartu, Rüütli 15, is opened for visitors for last day on 30th September 2016. Estonian Postal Museum opened it’s first exhibition in former Tartu Post Office building 15 years ago, on 1st October 2001. On that day Estonian Postal Museum got 7 years old. From 1st January 2009 the museum joined with Estonian National Museum and has welcomed countless philatelists and postal history enthusiasts by offering them the opportunity to access the information about history and present day of communication. There has been possibility to see the stamps of Estonia and other countries. Good co-operation with members of the Society of Friends of the Postal Museum has brought to the exhibitions some of the biggest rarities from private collections. For philatelists in Tartu, the place was long years the most well equipped place to purchase stamps and philatelic goods.
Philatelists and postal history enthusiasts are thanking everybody, who have been contributed to Postal Museum activity over the years!
We hope that Estonian Postal Museum is not going to only store the Postal Museum’s collections in proper conditions, but will find the opportunity in the future to present them in their newly built big house.
Additional information and commends are welcome in philatelic forum.
